Lorraine is an accomplished podiatrist with clinical and managerial experience in the NHS and retail/occupational health environments – twelve years managing the podiatry service for John Lewis and Waitrose, and is currently in private practice as Chiswick Feet.
Lorraine has been for twenty one years as an active member of council of
the Royal College of Podiatry.
Lorraine is also a Fellow of the more recently established Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.
Lorraine has always been committed to spreading the word about good foot health and has been lucky enough to have had some excellent opportunities to do this. Including Radio 4 Womans Hour on 3 different occasions, a number of breakfast TV appearances, regional radio stations, and also both local and national newspapers.
I think the best coverage was many years ago when I put a motion forward on behalf of the SCP at the Womens TUC. We asked that a motion be passed that women should have a choice of comfortable shoe options in companies where dress guidelines are in place. One of the tabloids mistakenly published that the SCP wanted to ban high heels – fantastic coverage – we hit the front pages!
